ARTIST BIO

Lupe is a dancer and visual artist at the EC, joining the EC in 2006. Lupe loves dancing, she is a cumbia and merengue dancer, often bringing the audience on stage to dance with her. Lupe is inspired by artists like Ana Barbara and artists she had met over time.

ARTIST STATEMENT

I like creating portraits of my friends and family, my current work is mostly painting in acrylic. I use to work in clay with Kristine, but right now I just want to draw and paint. In my process, I start with a sketch that I move over to a canvas, I paint my larger portions with a brush and use acrylic paint markers for my detail. I love using color in my work, if it does not have color its not done.
