Saturday, October 15

‘Tis the season… and not just the Christmas season.  From October to January, there seems to be a neverending story of parties, get-togethers, and festivities. Family, friends, school, work, and community, we all double down on socializing and celebration.  Woohoo! You’re invited!

But, if last minute shopping for gifts and decorations gets you down, have no fear! You can be jolly throughout the holiday season by starting your shopping early, and stocking up for every occasion on your list… and those you may have forgotten about.

The Enrichment Center’s Holiday Art Sale is Saturday, October 15th, from 10:00am to 8:30pm, in our studios on the 3rd floor of the Multicultural Arts Center, 645 W. Main Street in Merced.

In addition to featuring amazing paintings, drawings, ceramics, prints, note cards, and jewelry, the Holiday Art Sale will launch the Enrichment Center’s 2016 holiday ornament.  This year, we will be offering two different holiday ornaments.  One is a traditional disc shape, decorated with a water etching technique, and glazed in the EC’s colorful style.  The second 2016 holiday ornament is a skull shape decorated with a sgraffito technique on black mason stain, using traditional Dia de los Muertos themes.

The EC artists take 70% profit on sales of their original works, and 25% profit on sales of reproductions. All proceeds from ornaments, along with 30% of art sales and 75% of print and note card sales, go back into the EC studios, in the form of canvases and clay, paint and glaze, and so much more.

And don’t forget that the Enrichment Center also supports the performing arts. Our latest production, a silent film project called “The Detective” will be on display in Studio 2.

The 3rd floor will also feature an exhibit of the works of Oscar Onsurez, a 15 year veteran of the Enrichment Center (also playing “The Detective”).
